Bramhope Wine Appreciation Group

We are a group of like-minded people who are interested in wine. We taste wine to sort the good from the bad, (and we don't always agree which is which!) We enjoy learning about wine - and last but certainly not least - we love wine.

The group has been in existence for over twenty years now and has changed from a local authority run night school to a meeting of friends with a shared interest in drinking wine at reasonable prices.

OK so occasionally we push the boat out and have an expensive tasting, but as we have a basic cost of £5 per tasting this is absorbed by savings.

We all club together to pay the annual rent and this works out at £30 per person per year.

We meet in the upstairs room at the Robert Craven Memorial Hall on alternate Tuesday evenings at 7.30pm.

New members are always welcome - don't worry that you won't know enough about wine - that's what we are all there for, to learn. And no matter how long we have been coming, we are all still learning!

If you would like to hear more about us, or come to a meeting to try us out, we can be contacted on e-mail:- Jill Thorley

Or by telephone: Jill on 0113 264 5501, or Ceri on 0113 267 7058

Don't be shy - give us a try!

Examining the label is a very serious business before we get down to tasting the wine!!

However, we are not serious all the time!!!!

We were extremely fortunate in 2005 to have a beautiful afternoon of sunshine for our annual garden party. We had a wonderful day in the garden of two of our members as the weather was exceedingly kind, the food and wines were exceptional and of course the company was perfect!”

Here are a few pictures taken then:
